In response to digital divide and support the use of open source software, Chevron Indonesia and Indonesian Open Source Association (AOSI) donated 500 used PCs and 125 used notebooks to schools in cities such as Jakarta, Tangerang and other cities in Banten, Bekasi, Depok, Bogor, Cianjur, Bandung and Garut.
Each school will get :
- 4 PCs including ergonomics keyboard and LCD monitor
- 1 Notebook
All PCs and notebooks are equipped with pre-installed Ubuntu 10.04 operating system. Training is also provided to each recipient school.
Jaksoft as member of AOSI is happy that we have the chance to coordinate the donation for Garut area, West Java. The donation was delivered on December 4th, 2010 at SMAN 3 Garut attended by representatives from Jaksoft, Chevron and representatives from all recipient schools in Kabupaten Garut.
